Janhvi Kapoor is someone who struggles a lot to keep herself away from controversies. However, she seems to have invited the trolls yet again after she spoke at length about her acting career and how she started the journey by learning acting at Lee Strasberg Institute, California. During an interview, the actress admitted that she regretted going to college.
In fact, in a confession of sorts, Janhvi announced that she regrets taking acting classes at Lee Strasberg since she couldn’t learn anything there. She preferred staying in India and learning the nits and grits of her profession from her mother and other acting stalwarts in her family.
In an interview with The Week, the actress confirmed, “The format of the school that I studied there was deeply rooted in how Hollywood works, how their auditioning process is, what it’s like to meet casting agents. I just wish I did more things that would make me relate to my people, and I did.”

The Mili actress further said, “Once I started shooting for ‘Dhadak,’ I made a 180, and I realized that the only thing that matters is that I want to tell stories of my country, I want to know the people of my country, I want to be able to speak to them, I want to be able to think like them, feel like them and sitting in LA, going to Malibu on the weekend isn’t going to cut it. It just makes you so detached and jaded.”
Now, Janhvi is being trolled for wanting to find her roots in a global school. However, she has said the same thing earlier as well. However, we caught hold of a video that states that Janhvi might have been facing issues, but another alumnus from the same college made the maximum use of the teaching he received from the school.
Here’s a video of Ranbir Kapoor made in 2002 when he was studying in the same college, years apart. Ranbir has also attended Lee Strasberg and made a short film where he played a man obsessed with his wife. This 8-minute and 44-second video offers a glimpse of Ved from Tamasha and Shah Rukh Khan from Darr.

This short film was probably a part of Ranbir Kapoor’s acting curriculum at Lee Strasberg. He also did a short course from the institute much later when he had to prepare for an act where his character stammers. The list of alumni from Lee Strasberg includes Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and others.
Interestingly, even earlier, Janhvi Kapoor maintained that going to acting school was not a great actor. During one of her interviews earlier, the actress said, “It was during Dhadak’s shoot that I realized, main kya bewakoof aurat thi, vahan jaa kar acting seekhi. (I am such a stupid woman to go and learn acting in LA). I should have learned about our people.”
Currently, Janhvi Kapoor is working with Jr. NTR in Devara, and she has been finalized for Ram Charan’s next. She will also be seen in Shashank Khaitan’s next Dharma film, which also stars Varun Dhawan.
