As expected, Airlift saw a good jump on its second Saturday. One could see that happening as this is practically the only film with family appeal that is currently running in the town. Especially at multiplexes, the film is continuing to have a very good run and that is helping it gain good numbers over the weekend.
With Saturday turning out to be good, the film has now collected 6.5 crore more, hence bringing the overall total to 94.5 crore. The film will take another jump today, and with that the 100 crore mark would be crossed well before the night shows commence.
Box Office – Saturday updates – Airlift shows good jump, Mastizaade on same levels, Saala Khadoos is better
Mastizaade, reeling under all-around bad reviews, had a similar Saturday as Friday. It didn’t crash per se, which is a respite for the Sunny Leone starrer. With 6.1 crore more coming on Saturday, it is somehow hanging on, with collections reading 11.7 crore. The film needs to ensure that there is no fall on Sunday so that it steps into weekdays with some chance of a hold-up in collections.
Saala Khadoos was better than Friday, with collections reading 1.6 crore*. This was the least requirement for the Madhavan starrer since the opening was below par. However, those who have watched the film carry good word of mouth, which means an escalation was pretty much on the cards. However, the jump had to be higher. At least Sunday needs to shows a massive jump now over 2.88 crore* total so far.
*Final numbers awaited
Note: All collections as per production and distributor sources
