Undoubtedly it will be Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor‘s bonding that will grab maximum eyeballs. “I think it will create a certain amount of curiosity. I am just worried by the time they make us do 5000 press appearances, I wonder if there will be any curiosity left,” quipped Saif.
‘Haider’ director Vishal Bhardwaj managed a casting coup of sorts when he signed Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor for his upcoming film, ‘Rangoon’. While Rangoon reunites Saif with his favourite director Vishal Bhardwaj after a gap of nine long years (their last association Omkara established Saif’s brilliance as an actor where he was seen playing Langda Tyagi), this time the spotlight will be on Saif and Shahid given the mutual history they share between each other.
For Saif too, ‘Rangoon’ holds significant importance as it is after a long time he will be a part of a two-hero project where his co-star is an equally popular actor. When asked about how Vishal will balance the screen time given to both actors in the movie, Saif said: “I think he should do whatever suits his script. He is really good with all his characters. And I am really excited to be working with him again. And it is not so much about balances. I think we should all make it easier for him to make his film as faithfully as possible.” (Read review of Saif Ali Khan’s Phantom)
Saif, who started out in the 90s as a supporting lead in two-hero movies, has today graduated to playing the lead rather than second fiddle. With him being the more senior actor in ‘Rangoon’, Saif is not too worried about the length of his role and is more than willing to help Vishal carve out the best film possible.

“I am sure Vishal will do what he needs to do to make the best film he can and I am going to help him do that. I am quite confident of the way he will treat me and I am sure Shahid (Kapoor) will have an outstanding role also. It will also be healthily competitive as well. And it will also be quite exciting for people to watch,” reasoned Saif.
However, undoubtedly it will be Saif and Shahid’s bonding that will grab maximum eyeballs. “I think it will create a certain amount of curiosity. I am just worried by the time they make us do 5000 press appearances, I wonder if there will be any curiosity left,” quipped Saif.
