Movie “Kaun Kitne Paani Mein” Review – Radhika Apte

Review : The Kings age has gone but it has taken many things along. This film by Nila Madhab Panda is such a story. It tells how the throne of king become diminished with time. Now lets look what it tells.

Story : There is a village known as upari gaon where Raja Sahab (Surabh Sukhla) stays. One more village downstream to this village is situated that is known as Beri gaon. It has been named so as there is conflict between the people of both the villages. There has been cold war between the two villages which has created by the ancestors of Raja Shabab by killing two couples. There is no electricity in the village, no bank balance, nor there is water in this village. Leave the thing of bathing, there is not a single drop of water here. But it does effect the ego and attitude of Raja Sahab. The priest of the temple gives packet of water to the people of this village.

This is the reason that he has to sell his land but here is no buyer as there is no water. On the other hand water in the well of other village is always full. The head of that village (Gulshan Grover) there feels himself lucky as there is water. His daughter Jhanvi (Radhika Apte) is highly educated and takes care of agricultural activities in the village. They are those who had killed the ancestors of Raja Sahab.

Seeing the success of the head of other village Raja Sahab feels angry. On the other hand the son of Raja Sahab after completing his studies wants to go to London but he does have money to afford that. The a plan strikes in his mind. He tells his father that if he marries Jhanavi then he can enter the village and can also get money.

Rakesh then leaves his village and moves to the other village and starts living in the head’s house only. Khau gets to know about the Plan of Raja Sahab and his son and then the fights starts. On the other hand a miracle happens in the temple. Water starts flowing out of there.

Many people will be watching the movie because of Nila as she owns movies like “I Am Kalam” which has got many national as well as international awards. But some directors after giving a hot movie do something wrong. After making a good movie Nila made Jalpari on girl child and then a movie on AIDS “Babloo Happy Hai”. She making these movies has now done a mistake.

The subject of water and the conflict of two villages have made the movie very confusing. The start of the film is like a documentary. The conflicts between the kings and other things reminds of honour killing.

Then a village deprived of water is not good to show. Although some scenes makes us laugh but there is nothing new about it. Saurabh Shukla has bind the movie completely. Other actors could not do better with him. The deprivation of money and water can be easily seen on their faces. Relation of Akbar and Birbal has been shown in the movie between the king and his servant.

Gulshan Grover is a bit loud. Radika has done well but us not going well with Kunal. At last only Raja Shab is the one who you would like to see on screen. The song matches the movie and touches the heart and the climax is filled with drama. Now with this movie it has been clear that a good director is how much under water.
