1st Friday Box Office: Baaghi Takes The 3rd Biggest Opening Of 2016

Baaghi

As the fourth month of the year comes to an end, Baaghi with a one film hero (Tiger Shroff) and a successful actress (Shraddha Kapoor) has managed to take the third biggest opening. With 10.25 crore* coming in, the film has seen a very good start for itself.

It was pretty much on the cards that the film would have a start better than the last collaboration between Tiger, Shraddha, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Sabbir Khan – Heropanti [6.63 crore]. However, for it to score this high has set the stage well for the action-romantic-musical.

Baaghi

The film’s opening is comparable to the best of the lot this year:

Fan – 19.2 crore
Airlift – 12.35 crore
Baaghi – 11.87 crore

This also means that for Sabbir Khan, this is third film in a row (after Kambakkth Ishq and Heropanti) where there has been a good opening at the Box Office. As for Sajid Nadiadwala, his good run is continuing as every film of his continues to take a respectable/good/very good opening ever since one can remember.

The film is scoring well also on the power of single screens and audience footfalls in B and C centers. This is a kind of film that has in it to penetrate the interiors and though the reviews range from average to good, it hasn’t been thrashed which means the weekend should stay consistent from this point on.

Baaghi should be a safe bet for all involved.
