Where there is will there is a way. And Salman Khan out to prove it right. It so happened that top officials of Indian Dental Association made a visit to Salman’s house last week to invite him as the guest of honour for the World No Tobacco Day event on May 31. While Salman was sincere enough to say that he would not be the right choice for the event as he himself is a smoker, he left the officials mighty impressed not just with his hospitality but with his knowledge. Dr Rajeev Chitguppi who was amongst the officials to meet Salman recalled the meeting to us.
Salman said, “We keep abusing our body with all sorts of bad habits. And the body needs regular flushing to maintain the vitality. Regular workouts, yoga and breathing exercises help. I have started with Yoga as well as a daily round of breathing exercises that have really begun showing their effects. I am planning to quit smoking. For those who are serious about planning to quit smoking, there are medicines available that can help people quit it. Just go for it and get rid of the habit.”
Salman further added, “I have always sent a positive message to the youth to stay healthy and all these years I have instructed all the journalists and photographers not to take my smoking pictures and publish them and I am happy that they have respected my request. I want to remain a positive influence on the youth.”
