He has dabbled in acting, production, playback singing and also worked as a television host, but Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has no plans to direct a film.
“Direction is a very difficult and classified job, which I feel I am incapable of doing. Since I don’t possess the skills to make a film, I would not like to do it. I am happy doing the other things I have been doing,” Amitabh told reporters here.
He also refused to be dragged into the controversy relating to an FIR against him and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh in Kanpur. Amitabh said: “I have nothing to say and I am not concerned. Amar Singhji has already explained.”
The veteran actor, who is looking forward to two of his forthcoming films “Aladin” and “Paa”, also clarified that he is not working on any project centred on the Taj Mahal. “My forthcoming film ‘Johny Mastana’ does have a scene of the Taj Mahal,” he said.
The 67-year-old, who is the brand ambassador of Max New York Life Insurance, was here to launch the new insurance policy “Aukat Par Vijay”.
Asked when he would become a grandfather, Amitabh said: “It’s not in my hands.”
When quizzed about his love and hate relationship with the media, he said: “I feel that Indian media is very capable. I completely respect the media and I don’t have any problem with them. It’s just that since I have a medium today to express myself so whenever there is a correction to be made I do that through my blog,” he said.
