Box Office - Airlift keeps its flag high in Week Two as well

There were two new releases in the week gone by – Mastizaade and Saala Khadoos. Still, it was Airlift that emerged as the first choice of audience. It had the best collections of the week as it brought in over 28.5 crore more. This resulted in the two week total of over 112 crore. The Akshay Kumar starrer is now a Superhit, and is set to cross the 120 crore mark.

Amongst films belonging to niche genre, the only other 100 crore grossers have been Barfi! [112 crore] and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag [109 crore]. All other 100/200/300 crore successes have been out and out commercial affairs, right from the highest P.K. [339.5 crore] to the lowest Singham [100 crore].

There have been as many as 42 Hindi films that have done over 100 crore at the Box Office ever since Ghajini [2008] opened this club. However, Airlift has now created a record to manage this feat with the highest collections ever.

Release of Ghayal Once Again this week has resulted in reduction of shows for Airlift. However, the Raja Menon directed film would continue to be in reckoning this week too, hence turning out to be a biggie for all involved.
