Drishyam Is A Good Box Office Success For Ajay Devgn – The Lifetime Collections

Drishyam has entered its fifth week, which would well be its last at the Box Office. However, in the process, the film has managed to keep its head high and sail through quite well. With 3.15 crore more coming in the fourth week, the film now stands at 74.87 crores. These are good collections for a film which had opened at 8.5 crore and then continued to stay stable at the Box Office entirely on the basis of word of mouth.

The film has done the best of the business when it comes to some of the serious films that Ajay Devgn has done in the recent past. Satyagara had ended its run at 65 crore with an Average tag, whereas Aakrosh was a Disaster at 13 crore. In that aspect, Drishyam has managed to show the versatile side of the actor all over again, and successfully so.

Moreover, the blues of Action Jackson (59 crore) have been left behind as well and with a success under his belt, he can now look forward to completing work on Baadshaho and then kick-start his directorial outing Shivaay, both of which are slated for release next year.

As for director Nishikanth Kamat, he now has two back to back successes under his belt, if one considers his Marathi Blockbuster with Riteish Deshmukh, Lai Bhaari, as well. All eyes are now on his next two films – John Abraham’s Rocky Handsome and Irrfan Khan-Jimmy Sheirgill starrer Madari.

Drishyam will end its lifetime run at 76 crores.
