The makers of Konkani movie “Home Sweet Home” have announced a sequel to the film, which will start its shoot in December this year.
The movie, which was released last year, is still running in various theatres across the state.
“Home Sweet Home” makes a statement on the current affairs of Goa, a small state which is losing its land to non-Goans.
“The success of the film prompted us to go for the sequel. The film appealed to all the Goan audience across the world. We had kept the first instalment’s conclusion open. We were getting calls requesting to take the screenplay further,” Swapnil Shetkar, the film’s producer and director, told PTI.
The sequel will retain all the actors from the original film and will have some new ones also.
“Home Sweet Home” stars Rajdeep Naik, John D’Silva and Aryan Khedekar.
The theme of the sequel will be the alleged scams unleashed by politicians in the state.
“We have done a lot of research before finalising the story. We went through documents and also met the victims,” he said.
The spin-off, to be shot in Goa and Mumbai, is expected to hit theatres next year.
