Varun Dhawan Took Home Highest Ever Salary For Baby John, Salman Khan’s Is A Surprise

Varun Dhawan’s much-anticipated action film Baby John‘s release date is right around the corner. Having generated a lot of buzz, the film is now in the news for its cast salary with a report circulating on the internet.

One of the biggest movies of Varun Dhawan’s filmography, the actor also took home the biggest paycheck of his career so far. Reportedly, he earned Rs 25 crore as the leading man in the film.

It was followed by Keerthy Suresh who charged Rs 4 crore for her role.

The report mentioned the fees of the other cast members as well. Senior actors Jackie Shroff and Rajpal Yadav have been paid Rs 1.50 crore and Rs 1 crore respectively, while Sanya Malhotra earned Rs 1 crore, and Wamiqa Gabbi Rs 40 lakh.

But it is what Salman Khan charged that is taking fans by surprise.

Salman has done a high-octane cameo role in the action thriller, for free.

During a recent media interview, Atlee, who is backing the film, revealed how they convinced the superstar to do the cameo.

“It was just an initial discussion between me and Murad (Khetani) sir. I told him, ‘Sir, towards the end, I need a cameo… should we ask Salman sir?’ He said, ‘okay,'” Atlee shared.

He continued, “Next day, he calls me in the morning, and says, ‘Salman has agreed to do a cameo.’ I was shocked. I was like, ‘I was just discussing with you, I don’t have any such scene prepared for it. Let me work on it.'”

Murad Khetani quipped in, “I didn’t have to convince him (Salman). I was just having a conversation with him over a call. During our chat, I simply asked, ‘Bhai, we wanted to do a scene with you in Baby John‘. He was like, ‘Done, let me know when I have to come for it.’ The conversation didn’t go beyond ten seconds.'”

Atlee also looked back on the time when they were about to explain the scene to Salman.

“Why do you have to explain? I’ll come and do it, no problem,” the star responded. Atlee remarked that he had never seen a more humble superstar than Salman.

Atlee turned producer for Baby John, which he is co-producing along with Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, and Jyoti Deshpande. An adaptation of his superhit film, Theri, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on December 25.
