The month of February will come to an end soon, and it hasn’t turned out to be that huge for Bollywood in terms of Indian box office collection. Yes, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya did a good job, but that film will not even enter the 100-crore club. No one is at fault here, as February has always been like this, but still, there’s one actor who managed to deliver 150 crore worth success, and he’s none other than Ajay Devgn.

Directed by Indra Kumar, Total Dhamaal was released on this very day in 2019, i.e., on 22nd February 2019. It was a threequel in the Dhamaal franchise and a sequel to 2011’s Double Dhamaal. Upon its release, the film saw mixed reviews from critics. However, it didn’t affect the film’s theatrical run and was a commercial success.

Despite mixed reviews, Total Dhamaal did a business of 154.3 crores net at the Indian box office. Reportedly, the film had a budget of around 100 crores. So, if we subtract the cost from the collection, the ROI (return on investment) stands at 54.3 crores, i.e., it yielded returns of 54.3% and was given a Plus verdict in Koimoi’s box office verdict page of 2019.
Till today, Ajay Devgn-led Total Dhamaal stands at the highest net grosser for Bollywood in February. Surprisingly, there’s no film of Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, or Aamir Khan in the top scorers. Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy (139.38 crores) is in the second position, while Kartik Aaryan-led Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (108.71 crores) is in the third position.
