The John Abraham-starrer “Jhootha Hi Sahi”, which was slated for Oct 15, will now hit the screens a week later because composer A.R. Rahman’s unavailability for last minute fixtures in its background music.
The romantic comedy, directed by Abbas Tyrewala, will now release Oct 22, confirms producer Madhu Mantena. It features Tyrewala’s wife Pakhi as John’s love interest. She has also written the script of the film.
“It’s true that we have decided to release ‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’ on the 22nd of October instead of the 15th of October. It’s only good as we will utilise this extra time in promoting our film,” Mantena said in a press statement.
According to a source, the background music of the movie still requires some work by Rahman, who was busy with the preparations for the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games.
However, Tyrewala wanted to give the Oscar-winning composer creative freedom, and didn’t want to nag him with deadlines. So, he decided to push the release instead.
“Abbas took a completely creative decision when he postponed the release date by a week. Abbas feels that what Rahman brings to a project is very valuable and therefore, he did not want to hamper Rahman’s creative process by binding him with time limits,” added the source.
