Bollywood films Kaminey and Love Aaj Kal lead the nominations for the prestigious Filmfare awards in India, which are now in their 55th year.
Both movies have been nominated in eight categories, including best film, in India’s longest-running film awards.
The most popular Bollywood release in 2009 – 3 Idiots – is shortlisted for six awards, as is Indian acting legend Amitabh Bachchan’s Paa.
The awards take place in Mumbai (Bombay) on 27 February.
Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor (Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Wake up Sid), Shahid Kapoor (Kaminey), Aamir Khan (3 Idiots) as well as Saif Ali Khan (Love Aaj Kal) are up for the best male actor award.
While leading ladies Vidya Balan (Paa), Priyanka Chopra (Kaminey), Katrina Kaif (New York), Kareena Kapoor (Kurbaan and 3 Idiots) and Deepika Padukone (Love Aaj Kal) will fight it out for the best female actor award.
