“There’s a lot of crap out there about me, in books and all over the Internet,” a statement from David Lynch reads.

Filmmaker David Lynch is aiming to dispel rumours about his life by releasing a memoir in 2017.

The “Twin Peaks” director has teamed up with writer Kristine MCKenna, who first interviewed him in the 1970s, to pen “Life & Work”, reported Deadline.

“There’s a lot of crap out there about me, in books and all over the Internet,” a statement from Lynch, 69, reads.

“I want to get all the right information in one place, so if someone wants to know something, they can find it here. And I wouldn’t do it with anyone other than Kristine; she and I go way back, and she gets it right.”

The book will be based on 90 interviews MCKenna conducted with Lynch’s family, friends and colleagues. The filmmaker will then add his own reflections to the interviews.

A statement released by Grand Central Publishing’s executive editor Ben Greenberg reads, “His approach to this book is as unique as I would have hoped it to be, and I am fascinated to see where it goes.”
