‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ revisited: Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol recreate the film’s poster

There is something about Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ that makes the romantic hearts beat faster even after 20 years of its release. Neither the fans, nor the stars, who were associated with the cult classic, can get over how the movie has been weaving magic since 1995.

Yesterday, when DDLJ, as it’s fondly referred to as, marked 20 years of its release, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol celebrated by revisiting and recreating the film’s famous poster. SRK and Kajol have been shooting lately for Rohit Shetty’s directorial ‘Dilwale’, that brings them together after almost five years. They had shared screen space last in 2012’s release ‘My Name Is Khan’, directed by Karan Johar.

SRK obliged his fans and followers by taking to Twitter and posting a picture wherein he can be seen “picking Kajol again” in his arms. And apparently, Team Rohit Shetty and Red Chillies, with whose help they did that were really happy with the outcome. SRK tweeted:

Want to thk Team Rohit Shetty & Red Chillies for doing this last minute. All looked happy that I picked Kajol again pic.twitter.com/AioOeaCPkL

The feat of 20 years of the longest running Bollywood movie ever is planned to be rung in a special way. ‘DDLJ’ will be screened at the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka.

“Yash Raj Films’ ‘DDLJ’ will be screened at the South Asian Gallery of the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka, Japan marking yet another milestone in its 20th year of uninterrupted run,” the production banner posted on its official site recently.

It’s also said that SRK and Kajol, will be recreating ‘DDLJ’s train sequence again for the Rohit Shetty film. ‘Dilwale’ also stars Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in lead roles.

Directed by Aditya Chopra, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ revolves around Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) and Simran (Kajol), two young non-resident Indians, who fall in love during a vacation in Europe with their friends. Apart from the duo, the film also starred late actor Amrish Puri and veterans Farida Jalal and Anupam Kher. The movie had won 10 Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director at the 1996 edition of the ceremony.
