The much awaited Sanjay Gupta directorial ‘Jazbaa‘ has finally hit the screens. With this film, former Miss World and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is making her comeback after long 5 years. Here Aish is seen as a Lawyer named Anuradha whose daughter has been kidnapped. Irrfan Khan is portraying the role of a suspended Police Officer. Apart from these, Shabana Azmi, Jackie Shroff, Atul Kulkarni and Sidharth Kapoor are also seen in key roles.
The film starts with the kidnap of Anuradha’s daughter. Kidnapper forced Anuradha to fight a case for a person who is accused of rape charges. Yohan (Irrfan Khan), who is the college friend of Anuradha, is a suspended Police Officer. Anuradha takes his help to find her daughter. The film has lots of interesting sequences but the loudness and the background sound spoiled most of the film. The only strong point of this 2 hour long film is its foolproof screenplay. Specially the scene when Anuradha got the news that her daughter has been kidnapped. You will surely storm to see the all out emotional outburst under bridge. Film’s another main attraction is Irrfan Khan. He is the heart and life of ‘Jazbaa’. His one-liners and funny acts stick the audience to their seats.
Although, the main attraction of ‘Jazbaa’ is the comeback queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who will pull the audiences toward theatre but the entire film is depended on the shoulders of Irrfan who has done a commendable job. Like his last week released ‘Talwar‘, this film too revolves around Irrfan. Jacky Shroff plays the role of a politician and Sidharth Kapoor is his son. Shabana Azmi has done justice of her character of the mother of the rape victim girl.
On the Whole, ‘Jazbaa’ is a wholesome entertainer which attracts you in patches. The music is the plus point of the film. Aishwarya could do far better performance than this in her comeback film. You can watch it once for Irrfan and if you want to see Aishwarya on big screens after 5 years.
My rating for ‘Jazbaa’ is 2 out of 5 star.
