Everybody wants to go international now. If Slumdog Millionaire made by a Britisher, who has little idea about Mumbai
get so much attention, why can’t every Tom, Dick and Harry try too?
Now Sajid Nadiadwala has always seemed like a producer with money but with much less creativity. But he could rope in some Hollywood stars for his movie like Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Superman Brandon Routh alongside the lead pair of Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor as well as Amrita Arora. And now he is planning to take the Kambakkht Ishq to Cannes as well. The movie will be dubbed in English for the event.
This year’s festival, which like other years will have producers and distributors from all over the world meeting up to discuss projects and to strike deal, will take place from 14-25 May and the President of the Jury will be French actress Isabelle Huppert.
Kareena Kapoor appears in a bikini again in Kambakkht Ishq after the super flop Tashan last year (hope it doesn’t meet with the same fate!)
She said: “It’s a film which is full of glamour,” she says, “It has all the elements of a commercial film. You have exciting moments, lot of glitz and glamour and a whole lot of stunning locations to enjoy. I am quite excited about this film because I have an entirely new look in it.”
The hype is there in the country too. A Rs.2-crore promotional video is also being made with Akshay and Sylvester and a Bihar entrepreneur is offering Rs.1 crore alone for the distribution rights in that region.
