John Abraham is a friend indeed. Now that close friend Sabal Shekhawat, who gave John his first break as a model, is making a film, John seems to be returning the favour by not just acting in the film but also coproducing it. TV 18 is the other producer.
A reliable source said, “John’s first campaign, a soap ad, was directed by Sabal Shekhawat. That ad made him so popular that very soon he was one of the top models, who went on to do music videos and later, films.
Though Sabal and John later worked on many other endorsement deals, John still looks back at that opportune moment and Sabal, with gratitude.
When Sabal expressed his desire to direct a Hindi film, John immediately backed him and said he was willing to act in it. Though they have been discussing the film for quite some time, it’s only now that they have finalised a script, which is a thriller.
John is so kicked about the script that he agreed to not just act in the film but also took Sabal to Indian Films (TV 18). They will now be producing the film. There is also a strong possibility of John coproducing the film but the deal is yet to be signed. John is backing Sabal as he believes that Sabal has the potential to be one of the most stylish directors in Bollywood.” When contacted John confirmed the news but refused to give any details.Incidentally, Sabal has done ad films with all the major stars including Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Kunal Kapoor.
