He might have had his occasional slump at the box office with CC2C going to the pastry board, yet that the aura that Akshay Kumar can conjure up cannot arguably be bettered by any industry bigwig barring King Khan.
So its good news then that Akshay is back with Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 2. The reality show had crossed swords with MTV Roadies 5.0 in the last season and had fared reasonably well with a gang of also-ran celebrities and Akshay himself. If comparisons have to be given the igniting flame once again, then Khatron Ke Khiladi will have to get a lot better as roadies 6.0 has completely restructured itself.
The oar has been entrusted to the maverick genius again. The producers of the show believe that Akshay alone can bring the combination of affable charm and daredevil stunts so important in motivating the contestants. Moreover, the contestants must look up to an anchor, they should feel respect for him and with the line of stunts that Akshay has performed in the past, he is sure to get his deserved veneration.
These are times when reality shows are fighting for TRP’s. Higher TRP’s are indicative of higher money generation. This makes it a seemingly odd story as to why Akshay had to take a share in the promotion of its immediate talent show Roadies. Who can forget a diabolical looking Akshay trying to freeze the contestants in their bones through his charismatic speech on a large projector hung on the task ground?
